1. Description of Service
TryBillSplit is a client-side mathematical calculator that assists users in calculating proportional itemized bill shares, restaurant taxes, service charges, promotional discounts, and simplified debt ledgers.
The service is provided free of charge, requires zero account registration or credential entry, and runs locally in your device's browser environment.
2. Permitted Use
You are welcome to use TryBillSplit for personal, dining, travel, household, or organizational group bill calculations. You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or inject malicious code into the client application.
- Use automated bots or scrapers that cause denial of service or excessive resource consumption.
- Misrepresent TryBillSplit as a certified financial institution, escrow agent, or banking gateway.
3. Calculations & Largest Remainder Rounding
TryBillSplit employs standardized mathematical algorithms, including the Largest Remainder Method (Hare-Niemeyer Algorithm) and Minimum Cash Flow Debt Simplification, to divide currency without lost cent/paisa rounding errors.
User Verification Notice:
While our engine is continuously tested against mathematical torture test suites, calculations depend on user-provided inputs. Users are advised to review and cross-reference total amounts against official vendor receipts before making physical payments.
4. Payments & Peer Settlements
TryBillSplit does not process payments, handle credit card numbers, or store bank accounts. We provide mathematical calculations and debt simplification summaries for informational purposes.
The actual money transfer occurs entirely between group participants using their preferred external payment providers (cash, bank wire, or digital wallets) and is governed by their respective terms and agreements. TryBillSplit is not responsible for settlement transactions or dispute resolution between users.
5. Intellectual Property
All branding, visual designs, calculator engine implementations, and user experience components on TryBillSplit are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not clone, mirror, or repackage the application for commercial resale without prior written authorization.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
TRYBILLSPLIT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY APPLICABLE LAW, TRYBILLSPLIT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL TRYBILLSPLIT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
7. Changes to Terms
